Site & App of the Week: February Sites

Each week an interesting web site and app are highlighted on this page. Visitors are invited to suggest sites and apps to be highlighted.

Week of February 3

I must admit I stumbled upon this site when I was researching another I decided not to use.   Educational origami is not a flashy wiki in design, but is rich in content.  The author Andrew Churches, teacher, author, and presenter, provides a plethora of resources related to Bloom's and digital literacy to start.  Check out this site.  I don't think you will be disappointed.

Week of February 10

According to the Vimeo web site, "Planet Nutshell is a small motion graphics outfit that produces animated educational and explanatory videos for public institutions and commercial client." Read Richard Bryne's brief review.  What caught my attention were the short videos on net safety, which are aimed at specific grade levels. A section for educators is available.

Week of February 24

FunBrain.com provides over 100 interactive games aimed at improving math, reading, and literacy skills.  The site is designed for elementary age students and includes popluar comics and books for their reading pleasure!
