Portfolio Assessments with Google Sites

This session will focus on the use of digital portfolios as an assessment tool.  Teachers will be shown examples of portfolios done at the MS and HS level as well as different software packages. Multiple tools for website creation will be discussed.  The participants will create a site with Google Sites (the old version) and be shown how to make individual pages, insert and format text, and insert multiple files.

If time permits, participants will be shown how to Screencastify a simple Scratch program, upload it to YouTube, and insert it into a web page.

Edward J. Davis is entering his 40th year of teaching and is a Certified Google Trainer and Google Educator. He has spent most of his career as an Industrial Arts Teacher but has also been a Tech. Integration Coordinator and a Vocational Educator in the field of Graphic Communications. Most of his HS level classes provided students with articulated college credits.

In the past, Ed developed a Digital Literacy program at Deering Middle School in West Warwick. His previous employment included 25 years in Fall River, MA, and 12 years in Tiverton, RI. He has taught numerous classes in technology education, including Graphic Design, Web Design, Desktop Publishing, and Entrepreneurship.
