John Bent is the Digital Content Coordinator for the Providence Public Library (PPL), and AskRI’s Technology and Marketing Coordinator. As AskRI’s Technology and Marketing Coor- dinator, John assists with technical support and training others on how to use AskRI.org as well as leading AskRI.org’s marketing efforts. As PPL’s Digital Content Coordinator, John works with library staff, and external organizations to strategize, develop, and maintain web prop- erties, digital collections, and internal web applications.
Prior to starting at PPL John worked as a web developer and digital media manager for WPRI-TV/Fox Providence. He holds a B.F.A from the University of Connecticut and an M.F.A from Rutgers University.
Beatrice Pulliam is Director of Technology and Information Services at Providence Public Library (PPL) and Director of AskRI.org, Rhode Island's Statewide Reference Resource Center. As PPL’s Director of Technology, she is responsible for directing the expansion of the Library's digital footprint, and re-envisioning technology education experiences and online services for users. As AskRI’s Director, Beatrice works closely with libraries (school, public, and academic) across the state to provide quality access to AskRI’s educational online resources and reference resources.
Before joining Providence Public Library and AskRI, Beatrice was Head of Technology and Access at the Providence College Library, and has over 10 years of experience working with technology in libraries. She also holds a BA from the University of Michigan and an MS in Library & Information Science from Simmons College in Boston.
