Rhode Island Middle School Book Award- 2023 Nominees

Members of the RIMSBA Committee will present the 2023 RIMSBA nominees.

Martha Boksenbaum is the Youth Services Librarian at William Hall Library of Cranston Public Library. She absolutely loves helping kids find books  to read and she tries her best to keep up with the huge number of books published for middle schoolers today, especially the recent boom in comics and manga. She is the Chair of the Rhode Island Middle School Book Award Committee for the 2022-2023 school year.

Katelyn Desjarlais has been working for the Pawtucket School District for the last ten years and has served as a special educator at Jenks Middle School for the last six years. With a master's degree in teaching special education and multi-lingual learners, she understands the importance of literacy. She enjoys filling her classroom book shelf with diversity and talking to students about what they are reading. This upcoming year will be her third year serving on the RIMSBA committee.

Britt Donahue is a student at the Simmons University School of Library and Information Science and is an assistant librarian in the youth department at West Warwick Public Library. They love putting together book lists and displays and helping kids find the books that will turn them into lifelong readers. When they aren’t working they are probably playing with their 3 dogs and 3 cats or trying to make a dent in their endless unread book pile!
