Book Challenges - SLRI to the Rescue!

Book Challenges- SLRI to the Rescue!

Over 1500 book bans have been instituted in U.S. school districts in the past nine months. It could happen in Rhode Island, too, if we aren’t prepared. Join this session to hear from SLRI members who have anticipated and experienced book challenges. Participants will also come away with highlights from this year’s SLRI Conversation Series on strategies to prepare and respond to challenges that featured speakers from the RI ACLU and the Freedom to Read Foundation. The session will conclude with information on other ways SLRI supports school librarians and time for Q&A.
