Marianne Mirando received her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, her teaching certification from D’Youville College, and her MLIS from URI. She is a certified Library Media Smart Librarian (through URI GLIS) and a Common Sense Educator. Marianne has been a librarian at Westerly High School for twenty years and still enjoys the changes and challenges offered by her profession. Best practice for teaching information fluency skills has been a pre-occupation for the past several years and the decline in reading is becoming a renewed focus as well.
