Maria Cotto is the Bilingual Children’s Librarian at the Pawtucket Public Library in Rhode Island. She received her Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island. Maria is one of the founders of the Rhode Island Latino Books Month Award. In 2018, Maria was awarded the “Outstanding Librarian of the Year” by the Rhode Island Library Association. The following year in 2019, she received “The Arnulfo D. Trejo Librarian of the Year Award” which is presented annually by REFORMA. Maria has been working in partnership with Rhode Island Latino Arts (RILA) in promoting Latino Literature throughout the state. She is currently the chair for the Rhode Island Latino Books Month Committee.
