How to Reorder, Move, and Hide Content

Use drag and drop* to move box content elements from one position within the box to another position within the same box.

Step 1: Click Add/Reorder > Reorder Content

Step 2: Click desired item > drag & drop > save

Edit mode result from Step 2 looks like this.

Our reordered content now looks like this.

Note of Caution:

When reordering a series of rich text elements, carefully count positions before reordering. All rich text elements will have the same name (with different ID numbers) that make it hard to know at a glance which element to select.

*All asset types can be manually reordered using drag and drop by following the steps above. Most asset types can also be reordered by using the built-in sorting mechanism for that asset type. (Rich text must always be reordered manually.) Here are some examples of built-in sorting:

If you experience a problem using the "drag & drop" function in LibGuides when working in the Chrome browser, the issue appears to be related to devices with "touch screen" capabilities. Springshare has provided the following work-around until the issue is resolved.

1. Type this in Chrome's address bar: chrome://flags

2a. Do a Find (control+F) for: touch

2b. Look for an option called "Enable touch events"

3. Change this setting to Disabled

4. Restart Chrome

This should resolve the problem.  If you need help with the process or it does not correct the problem, please contact Jackie.
